ENGINEERED STONE FAQ's

Engineered stone countertops are primarily composed of crushed natural stone—typically quartz—mixed with resins, pigments, and polymers. This manufacturing process results in a non-porous, uniform surface that offers greater consistency in color and pattern compared to natural stones like granite or marble. Unlike natural stone, engineered stone is resistant to staining, scratching, and offers more design versatility.

Engineered stone countertops offer several advantages, including greater durability, non-porous surfaces that resist stains and bacteria, and a broader range of colors and patterns. They require less maintenance, as they do not need sealing like natural stones. Additionally, engineered stone is more resilient to accidental impacts and scratches, making it particularly suited for high-use environments.

To maintain engineered stone countertops, simply clean them with a mild soap and warm water using a soft cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and scrubbers, as these can damage the surface. While engineered stone is highly resistant to staining, it is advisable to clean spills promptly. Routine care and avoiding excessive heat exposure (e.g., placing hot pots directly on the surface) will help preserve its original appearance for years.

Yes, engineered stone countertops can be fully customized in size, shape, and design. The manufacturing process allows for intricate designs and unique color blends, enabling homeowners to achieve their desired aesthetic. Clients can choose from various edge profiles and finishes to complement their interiors, making engineered stone a versatile option for any space.

Many engineered stone brands prioritize sustainability by using recycled materials, including reclaimed stone and recycled glass in their products. Additionally, the manufacturing processes for engineered stone can be more environmentally friendly than quarrying natural stone, as they often produce less waste and utilize fewer natural resources.
