At Sangengalo Marble & Granite, we house a distinctive collection of quality slabs, thoughtfully sourced from leading quarries around the world. Viewing stone in person allows texture, scale, and natural variation to be fully appreciated—an essential part of the design process.

CRAFTMANSHIP
Founded in 1997 at the former AECI explosives factory in Somerset West, Sangengalo has grown into a trusted name in stone refining and installation. Our name, derived from the Fanagalo word meaning “place of happiness” or “strong arms,” reflects both the care and craftsmanship behind our work.
Today, with state-of-the-art machinery and a highly skilled team, we operate from our factory, warehouse, and showroom in Blackheath. From here, we proudly serve a loyal client base across South Africa and beyond.
What began with kitchen and bathroom countertops has grown into a company trusted to deliver custom residential and large scale commercial projects. Today, Sangengalo works across local, national, and international markets—bringing the same attention to detail to every project,
regardless of scale.
Neville Owen (Founder / Managing Director) holds a Bachelor’s degree and a business diploma. Neville has over 25 years of experience as a business owner, preceded by 15 years working in banking, ultimately becoming the senior manager of an international banking group’s treasury division. Neville is actively involved in the operations of the company.
Brent Owen (Director) has over two decades of experience at Sangengalo and is the creator of our internal workflow package dubbed “Stoneflow”, which has propelled our production process to the forefront of the industry. Brent oversees our team of department managers, foremen, and artisans in an industry that requires quick results and precise outcomes.
We have expanded from setting up kitchen and bathroom countertops to handling large commercial and residential projects on a local, national, and global scale.

Equally suited to classic and contemporary interiors, fluted stone enhances the natural character of marble and granite. Whether applied to feature walls, columns, or bespoke elements, each finish is executed with precision, with a 5-axis CNC bridge saw, —resulting in a timeless, sculptural aesthetic.
